This album is great. Darwin Deez (actually Darwin Smith, but hey) is the lead of a New York indie rock group that has started making waves on their West Coast tour. They recently played dates in both Vancouver and Seattle with Fol Chen. If you made it to the show, nice work. I wish I could have joined.
Darwin Deez reminds me of the folk side of Beck… the guitar/drums reminds me of the Strokes a little, mildly reminiscent of Ben Folds lyrically (especially on “Bad Day”), and I’m not sure what else I’m recognizing or feeling when I hear the album, but it’s good… whatever it is. I’m going to share a couple tracks from the album. And yes, Darwin Deez looks the way he looks. I’m not sure what to say about it. Sorry? Haha.
